Makes: 4 servings
Total Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 lb flat iron steak
- 1 small onion (or 1/2 large onion)
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- cooking spray (I use either avocado oil or ghee bc they have a high smoke point)
- garlic powder to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
What to do:
- Slice your onion into rings
- Cut your steak into strips (I like mine fairly thin but you do you!)
- Season your meat with salt, pepper and garlic powder to your liking
- Heat a large skillet over high heat and spray it down with your cooking spray
- Add your meat in batches so that they don’t over crowd each other
- Cook for about 45 seconds to 1 minute per side (time depends on how you like your steak cooked) and set aside
- Once all of your meat is cooked, spray your skillet down again and add your onions and season with salt and pepper
- Let you onions cook without moving them for 1 minute then stir them up and let them cook for another minute
- Lower the heat to medium and add your mushrooms (may need to spray with cooking spray again if mushrooms are sticking to skillet)
- Saute mushrooms and onions for about 3 minutes – until your mushrooms are cooked to your liking
- Turn off your heat and mix in your steak with your veggies and serve while it’s warm!
- Enjoy this meal with one of my easy side dishes
